How to capture invisible electromagnetic waves, I focus more research on electromagnetic radiation in daily life, extract inspiration from natural and scientific phenomena, and provide a new perspective on the relationship between biology and technology. During the investigation, I learned that objects that are not at absolute zero (273.15 degrees Celsius below the temperature scale) will radiate electromagnetic waves to the outside world. Absolute zero is impossible to achieve in nature, so electromagnetic waves are everywhere. Both inside and outside the human body are filled with electrical and magnetic energy emitted by natural and man-made radiation sources. As for man-made radiation sources, they include various household appliances. Mainly,Turning a generator or a suitable medium will generate electricity, and the frequency is determined by the number of rotations. This is my new thinking on how to understand electromagnetic phenomena. We cannot see electromagnetic waves, but the space where electromagnetic waves exist is full of human activities, and humans interact with electromagnetic waves. I started from my own living environment. I rescanned my bedroom and rearranged it to simulate a virtual space affected by electromagnetic waves.
During the research, I discovered the magical Kirlian Photography. This camera can photograph invisible energy fields that are invisible to and reflect them in the phase formation process in different colors. Kirlian Photography recorded the process of high-voltage corona discharges around objects. The light you see during the Kirlian discharge is caused by the ionization of the air and part of the object being photographed. The Kirlian camera can also photograph the electromagnetic field around the human body, which is called human body halo (changes color with the change of human emotions). Under high voltage, various organic and inorganic substances will be exposed to light on the photosensitive emulsion to produce glow. This kind of photography is often used in occultism to prove that the soul is immortal. We know that the radiation of electromagnetic waves cannot be seen intuitively, but through this visualized radioactive halo, we can see the reflection of the object’s energy in daily life. So in the virtual space I created, the visual form of the object is expressed through a halo-like energy field.
In the same way, I want to continue to explore the effect of magnetic fields on life activities. I found that different types, strengths and distributions of external magnetic fields have different effects on living organisms. Migratory birds and returning pigeons can clearly figure out the paths around them. Many studies have strongly proved that birds can make good use of geomagnetism. If the fruit flies are kept in a uniform and constant magnetic field, when the magnetic field is 0.01-0.15 tex, the morphology of the fruit flies does not change significantly, but when the magnetic field is increased to 0.3-0.4 tex, the morphological distortion increases significantly. What’s more interesting is that when the seed is placed in a permanent magnet with a strength of up to 4000 Gauss, it is interesting to find that the seedling roots seem to avoid the influence of the magnetic field, and are biased toward the weaker side of the magnetic field. This reminds me of genetic mutations in Alessandra Kila’s works of art. Kila and Rusharc explored synthetic biology, presenting an extreme hybrid breeding and technology to push organisms into the heart of mutant life forms of the future. Computer circuits and components determine the birth of these wonderful new creatures, not Darwin’s evolution. I imagined what changes would happen to humans and organisms in a strong magnetic field, just as a strong magnetic field would change the shape of fruit flies and change the direction of corn growth. In the garden I created, the plants did not grow toward the light, but grew under the influence of the magnetic field. Under the control of the strong magnetic field, the plants also began to undergo genetic mutations. This is a seemingly prosperous and beautiful new world. Under its gorgeous and charming appearance, black fairy tales that are conquered, controlled, and chaotic are bred.I use graphic design to try to find a new connection with the landscape, which is translated into a kind of “humanized” environment

The Kirlian effect is similar to a common physical effect called corona glow, and not just superficially similar. The so-called corona glow refers to the discharge phenomenon that occurs in the air around an object in a strong electric field. Kirlian ‘s camera can also photograph the electromagnetic field around the human body, which is called human halo (changes color with the change of human emotions), which exactly echoes the energy field of the human body in ancient China.

I imagined what changes would happen to humans and organisms in a strong magnetic field, just as a strong magnetic field would change the shape of fruit flies and change the direction of corn growth. I want to match everyday electronic equipment with natural life, recreate it, create an extremely strong magnetic field, and reintegrate natural objects with man-made objects (traces of human life).

Collishaw successfully draws upon the language and traditions of art history, using modern technology and visual devices that beguile the human eye, to present excesses of violence that are both alluring and mesmerizing.
